Counselling can benefit if you are experiencing any of the following:
- Loss and bereavement
- Addictions – alcohol, drugs, food, online, sex
- Family issues
- Feelings of hopelessness
- Self esteem
Life can be overwhelming, complex and lonely particularly in present times.
It might feel like you are just watching life go by and are not actively participating in it. Perhaps you are struggling to cope with thoughts relating to past events or issues in the present. Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself, people and the world and feel like you do not fit in. Exploring what is troubling you, with the support of a counsellor, can help ease the internal struggle in your mind.
It is understandable to feel hesitant about starting counselling. Taking that first step can be intimidating. However, counselling can help to identify and overcome the heaviness in your heart and mind so that you feel empowered to make choices and live a life that is authentic and fulfilling.
I provide a safe, unbiased and confidential space where you can share concerns, past or present, that are contributing to your emotional pain and distress.
My approach is to work alongside you in exploring the blocks to your freedom and happiness. I offer a respectful, compassionate and warm hearted presence to hear and support you. I understand how challenging it can be to talk about personal and painful issues.
This might be the first time your needs are being acknowledged and where you can try to make sense of your experiences, feelings and what truly matters to you without judgement. I work to connect with you in the process of therapy and to help you develop the resilience to lead a more rewarding life.
I am a fully qualified Gestalt Humanistic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Gestalt therapy considers that the mind and body are connected. Gestalt therapy supports you to gain a better understanding and connection to yourself and others. For instance, via the focus of external and internal physical sensations, relational communication between counsellor and client in the present moment and creative engagement.
What would it be like to develop the inner resources to make decisions and choices that come from you? Healing the unheard or unmet needs, trauma, loss, abuse and hurt by facing your challenges and empowering a process of positive change.
